It all Starts with the Shoes

Draft from 2012:

Soft Spots Loafers and Easy Spirit Suede Oxfords

Postman brought these today. If I did the math right, they were a steal at 83% off when the discounts were done. And they fit!

Shoes have always been my favorite item of clothing.

When I was about eight years old, my cousin Margaret was an adult and I adored her. She had a pair of orange shoes and she let me 'wear' them, dragging them along on my feet and feeling so glamorous. I vowed to have orange flats when I grew up. It never happened but I never outgrew the thrill of new pretty shoes. I'm easily entertained, they can be utilitarian and I still enjoy getting them.

Brooches

Recently read that short women should wear brooches near their shoulders.

Joining the bloggers who are showing their brooches at Une Femme, I have three favorites:

Fifty years old. Measures 2 5/8 inches across.
Packed away for years; it is new again.

A little giraffe with a big faux garnet and beady green eyes.

Vintage glass buttons can be attached
with special safety pins that have a half
loop that hold the button shank so they're
easily removed to clean the garment.
I use these larger ones as brooches.
